Anyone know the dimensions of the Mini-T CVD's? Iv personally never had my hands on them but by looking at them in pics it sure looks like they would be a close fit on the M18T. Which would be nice for the wheel selection. But I just don't know. Cant find any info on their dimensions.

Well did some research and calling. Looks like the CVDs might actually work. They sound to be the right length per my conversation with my LHS. Big issue was the bearings. The M18T uses 6x8x3 where as the Mini-T uses 4x8x4. So in order to get it to work you would need 4x10x3 bearings which I have found plenty of online. I will let you guys know how the size compares when i get back from the LHS tomorrow. Kinda excited about this if it works. :D

But will the bearing fit into the inner knuckle......

yes that's why 4x10x3 bearing will be needed. The outer diameter of the M18T bearing is 10mm (vs. the 8mm of the mini-t) where as the inner diameter of the mini-t bearing is 4mm (vs. the 6mm of the M18t). Also the M18T bearing is 3mm thick. So for this to work a 4x10x3 bearing needs to be used.

I'll let ya know tomorrow! I'm crossing my fingers; but it just seems like it will work. Just cant tell till I have the CVDs in my hand. Ill tel y tho if it does work I'll be walking out with a couple sets of mini-T tire/wheels too! :D

You might want to make sure that the CVD's will actually work before you buy the whole shibang......:D ;)

One thing is though, I think the offset is different on the rims. I havent gotten to compare (maybe you can) but see how deep the wheel sits versus where the backplate is.

The Mini T rims may make your car narrower.

Good point. Ill take a wheel with me too to compare.

Good news guys! Will work like a charm!!!!!!! In the pics I dont have the correct bearings cause I just ordered them but this will be the primo set up for the M18T untill the aftermarket catches up. Plus I can now use Mini-T wheels ant tires!

Also the offset is just fine with the mini-T wheels.

Here are the bearings that you will need...

4mm X 10mm X 3mm (http://www.vxb.com/page/bearings/PROD/RCB/Kit2003)

dang that is nice....very well done man...are the cvd's in with the stock inner bearing or did you replace that.

Both bearings will be replaced. The stock ones are 3mm thick so the bearings I linked to will be stock thickness.

Bad News!

I did some additional fitting and checking tonight and something caught my eye. The Mini-T CVDs are just a little bit too long. I realized that the inner bearing would bind on the CVD severely compromising suspension travel. There is a fix where you can remove some material to allow the CVD to fit deeper; however I really think it feels like the streangth is compromised. So yes its still possible but at this point I don't feel comfortable recommending it. Guess it took some one to try it and figure out the down falls of a mod Eh?
