Got it today. Still building it (doing it slooow and methodical). Will say its a much more involved build than the m18. Not only because its a truck, but that they based it around the m18 in some ways, so there is alot of different screw sizes and weird pivot ball lengths versus if they just started with a truck idea from the beggining.

Shocks are the nicest I have seen yet in one 18th size. Built almost like AE 1/10th with the internal o-ring cartridge.

Diffs also great. Full internally supported bearings unlike AE.

My question is when is Xray coming out with option parts....i hear that a lot of owners have problems with the stock CVD's breaking. Glad you finally got yours man...please post pics when you can.:p

Hey Oxynary do you think the MIP CVD's are able to be installed in the M18t.

I dont see how, the universal system is totally different.

Anyhow, since alfred is already showing his.. I have to JOIN THE PARTY. Here is mine in progress.. I get the motor tommorrow... ;) Hope to paint the body this weekend.. Still dont have a motiff for it.. Want something "green" and peaceful on it since Im a granola crunching whore who is laughing at everyone who has a gas guzzling vehicle these days.

I also have a fairly large tip section on building the truck that Im putting together to post in 1/18th.

Had to mount my full size transponder (Im not paying $80 for something thats worth $30 at the most). Damn AMB and their monopoly!

EDIT: Anyone notice something perculiar with the shocks? You'll learn that and more on oXYnary's Wild Ride Tutorial (coming soon)!

EDIT EDIT: Yes, Shoe Goo is my friend.

Well everything is installed. What I need to do now is get my body painted, break in the diffs and let er loose.

Oh notice my low CG.. Yep. No top plated ESCs for me no sir!

Oh, how I wish it the sun would shine tommorrow....

(I also need to pick better color layouts, still quite happy with the doggy). I need some mini machine screws and locknut to attach my wing.. I guess I could use servo tape, but they never seem to stick long.

Hey Oxy what shock spacers are you using for the front and rear.....and how does your 18t handle the rough.:p

oXYnary
10-05-2005, 08:54 PM
Well given that I am more front heavy with my layout than normal. 1 large and 1 small upfront. None in the back. Universals about even all around(front slightly at an angle).

I dont know on the rough yet. Going to meet Cdog4w to try that out. I did grass and pavement, and yes, it did seem soft.

Someone said the Mini Quake ones work? The Yellow is the stiffest they offer.

alfred
10-05-2005, 10:50 PM
Are they the same diameter as the stock springs.....The only reason i asked was because i tried to put the AE springs on there but it would not work at all.....the diameter of the AE springs is too big.:(

I dunno, its all second hand. Though I f I remember correctly the one time I did see a Mini Quake it did in fact have smaller shocks than I thought it would. The trade off was there was 2 of them for each wheel.

That would be me lol

im running MQ whites at the mo until i can get the yellows.

you will need to cut the springs down to fit the fronts though...

still will need to be harder for carpet racing though..but even racing last night i had no noticeable grip roll issues.
