I see lots of improvements of the small buggies over the Kyosho buggy I posted about earlier. But how are the new 1/24th cars?
I put together a page about my Tamtech collection.

So thats 5 tamtechs, 5 bikes, 2ea 1/14th Tamtechs, 2 buggies. There pretty old, but I got them all out and ran them. This week they repaved my road, so they will come out and play again really soon!

From looking at ebay and what I found on the web, no. It looks like the only two are the short wheel base and long wheel base.
They go fast enough they are hard to control. One has to moderate the acceleration to prevent wheel spin coming out of all the turns. With the type of simple diff they pull more one way than another. Ovals are best clockwise, opposite of NASCAR direction.
I have no idea what the miles per hour is. The range of pinion gear size greatly effect the top end. But if anything I always found them over powered, not under powered like the Kyosho buggies or motorcycles. The 1/14th Tamtechs really seem underpowered. Where beginners have no problem with the 1/14th, they get very fustrated with the 1/24th. They are more difficult than even the motorcycle. But when you get it they really hook up and are a blast!
