LOL um... NO.
Its Gen 2. There was no other upgrade to the car from factory besides all the normal Xmods.
For the Contest against all other 1/28th. I'm going with the new Gen 2 Hands-Down.
Its upgradable to 4WD. Tight Steering. Batteries on the VERY bottom. Low Profile design. 3 adjustable lengths. Its goes on and on.
The Mini-Z is 2WD. Enough said.

The gen 2 is the chassis with the "N" on the front upper deck. It had slight improvements:
Heatshrink on the antenna wire.
Stronger servo. (not tighter)
Clear rear cups (WRX only)
So this one is Gen 3 :)
And it will be great. I've seen reviews for it.
Tighter steering, greater stock accelleration, greater breaking power, adjustable ride height and other stuff that I can't remember.

I dunno, I still see it as having a LOT of plastic on it, stock of course.
although, it doesn't look like it will be very hard to fit in any of the 750mah AA sized lithium cells that I just got in ;)

Actually there have been four gens. The first gen was only released in select areas and it can been seen in the origional mini mags (the ep was extremely cheap), then gen 2 was the version that was fully released, gen three had the n on the upper front deck, and gen 4 are the evos.

The GEN1 (as you have said, stik) isn't considered anymore, and so it isn't a "GEN" anymore. The next GEN is the real GEN1, which you call "GEN2". These were better than the original release. The next XMODS, which had the "N" on the upper deck, had some reinforced connections and a few stronger plastic parts. These were the version 1.5 XMODS. Nowadays, the XMOD EVO cars are called GEN2, because iit's the only chassis in the series with any major changes from the last 4 years or so. If you want the best message board to discuss these cars, along with some stuff about MRS4s and such, go here (http://p221.ezboard.com/bxmodrc).

this is useless
the first ones released were then
and now theres evolutions, any questions
plus
this is like psp firmware
it went from 1.5, to 1.51. to 1.52. then 2.00
nobody cares about 1.51 or 1.52, 2.0 was next gen firmware
you wouldnt buy a neew xmods for such minor impromvets would u?
and i have ALOT of gen1 parts for xmods, including some lithium cells with charger and power supply, as well as almost all drivetrain upgrades ( GPM) and knucles
so if interested, pm me or email or w/e

Oh and BTW, an EVO upgraded to stage 2 motor and AWD couldn't touch an MR-02 at a track. Even with RWD the MR-02 has far better handling and chassis weight distribution that lets it handle as well as, if no better than, an AWD xmod. 'Nuf said. ;)

i know this is old but i just wanted to say that its not fair to compare a miniz and a xmod with a stage 2(mini z motor is alot faster than it .the stage 2 is looked down apon in my opinion its way to slow, you at least need one of the 45t fet stock motors at the very least i say least because those were fet stock for gen 1 and the evo can handle up to a x-1(not recoomended in long run though a 2x2 stack of fets will be alot more efficient ) also my evo had the x-1 motor and hit 33mph with 12T gear at its best on speed checker and thats enough to blow alot of the minis out the water in a straight away and will most likely do the same on a track if geared lower and of course the drivers skills
also j smith heres some good xmod sites
http://www.undergroundxmods.com/catalog/index.php?osCsid=75cee177628f8bb67479b8fddf11a183
awsome store to get stuff and half the price of atomic robbery also home of the x-1(30MPH +) and X-2 50 mph+
http://xmodsforum.com/
one of my fav forums that got me started back then
http://xmoding.com/
another fav forum
thats basickly all you need to get startet
and one more thing the evos are gen 2 not gen 3 trust me there was a big argument on one of the forums about that so just trust me.

Those bad sites don't have support. AM will reply email in minutes with very detailed information about every single part they stock. They work like they mean it, and they don't make money from it. Also, that's just spead checker ratings. On the ground, it's obvious that the "30 MPH xmod" will really be going at around 20-ish mph.

well same thing for the mini z,and ive bought from undergroundxmods many many times and have had no problems with them, and his email response is within 1 or 2 days, and if it takes more than that hes got a good excuse, and i dont know about you but i would much rather buy a lion kit for 21.99 at underground then 39.95 over at am, thats a big gap if you ask me,and if they werent trust worthy why would pht2 (http://www.woahnelly.com/) let them be his us RETAILER for the nelly turbos? so dont try and say its a bad place to buy from.also i have nothing against am besides that hes very overpriced and if you you want to spend more money then you need to on something go ahead. good luck with your xmod J Smith hope my links are any help to you:)
few others that i forgot to mention
http://www.one28thrc.com/

Trust me, more people wouldn't buy from AM without a reason. Just because a part is 2% more expensive, doesn't mean it's not worth buying. The parts that AM makes and sells are all very high quality from what eeryone says, and I'm sure that they won't lie. Besides, you can buy from whomever you want to buy from- I don't buy any of those types of parts, but I would perfer AM- They've got the best service and products. You can even see in the AM live ShopCam how the gang works hard to deliver awesome products as quickly as possible. They REALLY care about what they're doing. They even extended the shop to add more room for products- you should see the walls lined with Mini Z and XMODS upgrades, replacements, and accessories.

work hard ehh, then tell me why there fat boy motor is really a anima motor relabled, if they really worked hard they would design there own motors not relable them. best products, ummm there v2 is very ineficient and ive heard of many peaple blowing them, the nelly turbo is by far better especially the double stack nelly, also im not trying to bash on am but if you want to pay double the price be my guest its your money, but im pretty sure most peaple prefer to get stuff cheaper cause cheaper= more parts.also most peaple that buy from am only buy from am because they either praise him and look down apon all the other great stores and forums or just dont know about the other stores and forums because ams forum doesnt allow you to post links of any other xmod stores or foums, makes you wonder why??

Everyone knows about the Fatboy being the Anima. And if I ask anyone which they would perfer buying, they would all say FatBoy. Also, I know PH2T. I talk to him on XMODRC all of the time (did you see the new Nelly? It's a redesign of the old Nelly for the EVO. Now it's almost like a V2.1- no more stacking on the Nellys. All of the ones that were stacked are now on circuit boards all layed out.). If you had a store online, would YOU want people posting links to other sites? Also, if you talk to Rob or any of the other workers at AM's store, they'll be fine with you PMing links to others or posting them right on the chat.

why would you want the fat boy over the anima if there the same motor?(its like when peaple talk about getting the big block motor someone always suggests the speed 300 instead, why, because its cheaper) do you enjoy paying more for something?and ive benn away from the xmod scene for a while so this is latest nelly i know of
http://www.undergroundxmods.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=251&osCsid=e4154fc0dfd76138d184dfcfa18eb863
