Hi guys, I just go going on this forum. I posted about my buggies: http://yourmicro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=170952#post170952
But the other things these radios went into were the 1/8th Motorcycle. I made a page of mine: http://home.earthlink.net/~xcnick/rc/Kyosho_motorcycle.htm
I don’t see anyone interested in these on this forum, but the question I am left with is how these originals are different from the ones I see today called Kyosho HOR or hanging on Rider. I wonder how many parts are interchangeable. You see I have two kits not built I debate whether to use them for parts or keep them intact.
Happy motoring

They are a bit fustrating at first. I compare it to flying planes more than driving cars. If you set the crash bars up just right they will stand themselves up after a crash, but it wears the bars out and you never know which way it will go after standing up. It is the extra challange that makes them fun and unique to drive. They attrack more spectators than cars as well.

Hello xcnick, some nice bikes you have there! I also have one of the Kyosho HOR's from around 10 years ago:D. I prepared it for a new coat of paint a while ago, the painting was another disaster. I am not good with painting. I *think* I have some left over electronics for this bike, and a Mamba 6800:D . Haven't got the time to install everything yet, still missing a few parts I think. I lost the manual too:( . I will get it up and running someday. Here's a pic of it when it was all sanded and pretty.;)
Btw, any hopups you would recommend for running?

I didn’t find any hop ups that made much change except one, but I tried:
Light weight flywheel: this made it turn much better. They say it is easier to drive with the heavy one, but it was easier with the light one.
Better motor: black with ball bearings I think, not much faster.
Ball bearings: not faster, but it is possible I am getting better reliability.
Big battery: 600 mha rather than 300. Lasted longer, but it makes it much slower. (too heavy)
I never tried the shocks with oil.
In that huge thread mentioned above they talk about sponge filled tires and a bunch of other things I never saw offered but they seem to think it helped.
Mine is not the HOR or hanging on rider but I could send you a copy of my manual. I still don’t know how many parts are interchangeable. Mine is about 15 or 20 years old.
The most important thing is to stop if there is any drag. The motor will overheat and melt into the chassis.

maybe interest in these will pick up with kyosho making these again. you can find them for a decent price too. much cheaper than a few years ago anyway

Thanks for the tips xcnick! I am thinking about adding some aluminum for it later. I will also get what you recommended, thanks!:)

I had an off road MC and it was a blast. I bought it off ebay. Cheap radio but the bike was so tough it was crazy. I know radio shack sells one that is similar. I was jumping mine off loading bays, down hobby shop stairs etc etc. I let everybody drive it.
was best on the dirt track when I took the rider off though lol. the phantom rider. I have seen a few of the street bikes but all got broken pretty quick from spills.
