When installing a hot motor into a Micro RS4, you will need to do the following:
Buy a decent front diff
Buy steel dogones
For info on front diff choices click here (http://www.yourmicro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11913)
Regarding front dogbones click here (http://www.yourmicro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16772)
Buy your packs from reputable manufcaturers:
United RC (http://www.unitedrc.com/store/categories.asp?brandID=7&brandName=Battery%20Cells,%20Packs%20and%20Accesso ries)
BLiND Batteries (http://www.blindbatts.com)
You can't really tag a speed to any motor, but the Elite Modified is a nice little motor with tons of torque and a sound like no other motor!
I would say with a 10-13 (max) tooth pinion you will see a massive difference over the standard motor

ok i might have to lay off of that for a little while since i dont even have it running yet. also do i need any special like motor mount for it or does it just bolt right up to the original mount?

if you're planning on running an Elite Modified (Coreless) motor, that will bolt straight on to a standard motor mounting plate.
If you are planning on running a Big Block 300 size motor you will need to do the following:
Buy a 300 Motor Mount plate
Raise the rear deck (The Orion 300 motor mount has the spacers to raise the deck)
Dremel some of the rear bulkhead away to allow the spur/pinion to mesh

a upgraded front diff and universal front dog bones arent needed for the orion elite mod. im running one of those at the moment and the stock parts have held up fine

its always better to upgrade the stock parts so you wont ever have to worry about them breaking on ya.....:D (heed the words of wisdom)

Don't get the "brand name" motors. They are cheap and are basically relabeled Mabuchi stockers. For the price of one of those, you could get one of Radishack's tuned 370s. As for the pack, I would reccommend URC's Sport line of packs. They are just as good as KAN packs, and are a bit cheaper.

dont forget to bullet-proof your drivetrain when using hotter motors......ie tuned mod motors..:D

im about to do this on my micro...anyone have any close up pics?? i bought an aluminum bulkhead with the 300 motor mount already mounted. but it didnt include any spacers to raise the rear deck. im running the TO CF chassis with seperate rear pod FWIW.

Vic,
No photos unfortunately as I have Penguins on two of my Micro RS4s and they have sufficient rear deck clearance for the BB300.
In essence you need to raise the upper rear deck by 4-5 millimetres (no idea what that is in inches - my el-cheapo "Mao Tse Tsung" Vernier Caliper only does Metric) You can raise the rear deck slightly longer screws and spacers.
I dont know if the alloy bulkhead will need working down at all..
The sweet spot for a Speed 300 seems to be about a 13T pinion, so you'll need to get the meshing right.
Hopefully someone will Post a photo showing the spacers in place
