so far i have yet to hear anything great about this car,, eveyone that writes about it says the same thing.."yep it needs hop-ups"... for that amount of money you would hope that it wouldnt need such improvements,,, i will wait and see what others say before i consider,, and to see if someone can fit a regular size mamba in it,,
might as well buy another rc18t or a pro model IBS

Well there is or might be a "Special" verison of this thing. I think in kit form, I hope. There just hasnt been any info out about this car.

Dude have you seen the promo video kyosho put out on this thing? it looks pretty hot. besides its new and its cool and i want one.. :)
seriously its a 777 scaled down, but most of the pieces remained the same.
For the longest time people have been wanting a 1/10 scale car, shrunk to 1/18 scale with out major changes. the mini inferno gives us just that, well not exactly but close enough.
You make a really good point about waiting for more positive remarks.
I suppose i've never been big on waiting, if i was i'd prolly have alot more money :)
well we will see how this mini inferno thing works out.

well the video didnt impress me too much,, i didnt see anything exciting,, just a slow buggy going on dirt and on the sidewalk going slower than ppl walking and doing figure 8's on someones driveway,,,
how fast does it go,, how high will it jump,, how well will it land on big jumps,,
i myself love the way buggies run at the track,, and i would expect to see the same with the mini inferno,,

I like the forums because you can find little tips and mods first hand instead of getting all frustrated and finding it out for yourself later on down the road after you threw the dang kit in the Garbage....:D
So whats going on with the Acclaimed Half 8, i guess no one on YM has one yet.......:(

LOl but that is true...I sometimes get a little childish..;) :D
I am wondering if Kyosho is having a hard time with their Us Distributors. I heard that Great Planes and Kyosho went separate ways. Also Tower is having probs with them.
So it may be a while to see the Half8 as available as the Rc18t was on its release. :(

thats right, tower/great planes hasn't even put in an order for half8's at all.
and kyosho just opened up a new wharehouse in socal to be their distribution center, they have a ton of half8's in there but they arent shipping any yet because they're still getting set up.

why nmot just get the buggie body for the rc18t and paint kyosho all over it,, and confuse ppl..

I dont know about getting away with it Jae considering the 8 has a wider stance then the 18t. I dont think that people were very impressed with the 8.....i have heard that the 8 needs a lot of the hopups that Kyosho provides and what does that tell a person like me.....I take it that the 8 doesnt perform well stock, and who in the hell uses 8 flashlight batteries to power this supposedly great performer.....:(
acsubie , please keep us posted when you get yours and how well it performs.

sure will bud, my track buddy got his today and he also tells me not to expect anything spectacular in stock form, but as long as it has potential, IM GAME, since i got my other r/c's finished already

alfred,
as I mentioned to you over the tele, Ive heard similar from others on the kyosho. The common thread was "very plastic".
I was going to pick one or two up via my partner's contacts in HK as they do alot of travel between here and there and so long the price was reasonable or better, but after hearing more of the "plastic" rhetoric, I'll hold off.
:)

but homer whats wrong with plastic..lighter car makes faster laps no????as lond as its strong im good, im sure it will need its few support alloy parts like towers, but i think its a nice platform...

I dont disagree with you there - I agree, plastic is lightweight and thus faster laps, etc. My reservation is based on the comments that have come out, so far....I havent written it off, by any means...
The pricing seems to be steep right now (since its been just released and available with $$$ shipping from overseas) - That's why I originally chose to see if I can get them in without paying 1/5th of its price on shipping.
The recent comments on the 8 are (ok as a very basic stock RC and not so good, if you're having to upgrade...so far...
the jury is still out over here.:)

i would still like a comparison between the mini8 and the rc18t,,, i know they are different,, but it seems that is all we have to compare the mini8 to...
out of the box compariosn
mamba comparison
and brush motor tunability comparison.
if someone were to race this buggie ,, who would he race against..????

well boys..did i make a big mistake last nite.....paid my connect 200 bones for the H8( shipped EMS and with bearings), went to cancel my tower backorder and the status has changed to " in warehouse"....so for all that have tower orders, looks like you wont be waiting long after all and wont have to spend an xtra 20-30 bux like i did:(
