is there any possible way to fit the gp2000 or te 3300 in the rc18t,, in either a 6 cell config or a 7 cell config,, looking for longer run times

you could buy 2 of these and make a battery packhere (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0095p?FVPROFIL=++&FVSEARCH=gp2300&FVPROFIL=++).

Even if you could what you would be doing is adding alot more weight to the car and putting a horrible strain on the motor.
The cells it normally uses weigh 0.7 oz and GP3300's weigh 2.3 oz each.
The best way to increase runtime is use a smaller pinion gear.

ok i understan about the gp3300 and 3600 but,, what about the gp2000/2200,, these are much lighter,, and if using only 6 cells might be close in weight to the gp1100 8 cell pack i have..

Jae, I thought you went lithium? You'll get your longer run times with a 3cell. Those should be at least 2000mah. The park fliers go nuts with making 3 and 4 cell pack's, and sometimes more

yeah but buying li-pos would mean buying another charger and a li-po pack,,, or several of them.. and the dangers that go with them
i considered it,, but it just isnt the right time for me

this is what i was able to come up with,,, the first pic is of the gp1100 in a 7 cell config.,, the 2nd one is of the gp2200 and the bottom one is of the gp2000.....
i dont know if this will fit the truck ,rc18t, but from measurements it looks as though it may,,, the pics are to scale according to the PAINT PROGRAM,,,
also does the gp2000 offer a higher amp output than the gp1100???
if the higher amp output isnt needed nor worht the effort,, then i guess all you will gain is longer run times....
what do you think...

6 Sub-C cells (3000/3300) will fit in a Micro:

And the 540 chassis from Aktionrc can handle 4/5SC or 2/3SC cells

I think you have to be creative to get it in an RC18 but be ware the weight will lose performance and wil ask more from the motor.

yeah im aware of it,, but the added weight with the extra amp output on the mamba shouldnt be a problem,,, im running 8 2/3a cells now,, with no problems,, and the gp2000 are a lil lighter than the 2200's,, gp1100=.76oz gp2000=1.23oz
just wanted to know what benefits will ther be if using larger cells with higher amp output,,,,,, other than longer run times..

He has many cells with specs on their dimensions, weight, and their output capacity.
Generally the shorter and fatter the cell the higher its output capacity just like a piece of wire.

the gp2200 have an output of 40 amps.... i just dont know if they are too fat to fit under the upper battery brace lip

seems to me the best overall fit might be the 6 gp2000,,, since thay are almost the same diameter as the gp1100 an not as heavy as the 2200's,,, still will offer longer runtimes nd the power output would be the same as running a mamba 6800 with 7 cells,
according to the mamba makers,, 6 cells is best with the 8000 anyways

the gp 2000's came in today.. has to be shoehorned,, but it fits,, not perfectly but it does the job,, the top plate has to be pushed up slightly,,
i will charge it up in the morning and see what it will do,, hopefully it wont be raining outside like it has been,,, nee to construct a special battery brace...
