mamba programing question

do i need to do the initial programing of my mamba manually before i connect it to the mamba link

The answer is no
The MambaLink GUI setup will override any settings made beforehand.

Read this Thread (http://www.yourmicro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15477) on programming the Mamba25 via the MambaLink.
As version 1.2 is now released the MambaLink software will probably prompt you to undertake a needed firmware upgrade first.

Another golden rule is not to have the battery connected when programming via the USB based GUI.
