I never understood peoples facination with metal spur gears. I guess I am doing something wrong I've never stripped a plastic spur gear in 15+ years of racing.

Metal gears are nice I guess, but I would rather have a gear cover for my 18T. Already changed the spur gear because a piece of sand got stuck between the spur and the pinion. But I won't get one, too noisy. I wonder though, does metal gear on metal gear cause any interference with the reciever?

Id rather have the gear cover as well. But until then, the metal spur gear may be the most reliable way to make one lap around a outdoor track.

What i think the truck really needs is a Slipper cluctch thats not directly linked to the diffs. That would make the truck go a long way toward being more dependable outdoors.

Where would you fit it?

I don't think there is a place to fit it. The gear cover is also part of the rear diff cover and it looks tight in there. Would be nice if one could though.

my opinion is just that a metal spur is a good way to chew up pinions and also plastic is so much quieter

yeah the metal pinion part is true but its just that if you set your gear mesh right you wont destroy the plastic one so why bother buying a metal one that will just make the car louder

GPM has a thing for metal huh:D ? Just wonder why they didn't bother to go up to at least 60? Then, how much will you notice from 55 to a 56 tooth spur gear? Well, at least they are going to make it and hopefully some other gears as well. Just trying to get their stuff sometimes can get a little hard, and I still haven't seen most of their enourmous list out yet:rolleyes:
