Damn, this is going to be tough. I don't think I can put them in any particular order because I love my music and cannot discriminate against any of them, so I will just do artists.

AFI
Johnny Cash
Get Up Kids
Saves the Day
The Aquabats
System of a Down
Nine Inch Nails
Prodigy
Chemical Brothers
Crystal Method
subatomicglue
Tom Petty (he is a freaking god of rock)
The Who
Rancid
Chuck Berry
Sublime
some Foo Fighters songs
some Linkin Park songs (A Place for My Head is a good'un)
Paul Oakenfold
Ramones (gods of punk)
NOFX
They Might Be Giants
Less Than Jake
Otis Reding - Sittin' On the Dock of the Bay
some Outkast (no Bling Bling rap)
Styx
I am gonna add Blackalicious because he is a super talented rapper
...for any that I forgot to mention but enjoy, I apologize.

As you can see my taste in music is a rather diverse one. I will listen to almost anything but country. As a great bumper sticker said "Discourage inbreeding, ban country music."

MicroDude
06-09-2002, 09:12 PM
Hah, if that were the same for me it would go Queen, The Guess Who, Billy Joel, Elton John (just. freaking. barely.), The Doobie Brothers, and some hard rock bands who's names i never caught... I can take a little country, but don't expect me to sit in am Oklahoma hospital waiting room for three hours while Trick Pony is doing her unintentional impression of a cat on a low air supply...

Rap is the greatest music there is, even if you don't like rap you should like rapper like Dr. Dre and Tupac.

I'm surprised rap is even classified as music... I mean, you hear all these not-so-sane people bragging about all their gold, diamonds, and their cars, but you know they didn't have those things when they actually started their crap career.... Here's a more realistic version of Nelly's first song (courtesy of The Morning WKLH[radio show]) "Drivin in the back of the Hundai-ee goin to pick sumthin up at the Mickey D's...."

How anyone can LIKE "rap" "hip hop" "pop" or whatever else there is in that slacker category is just beyond my comprehension... now im sittin here in my garage and there's little kids no more than 11 outside cursing each other out, braggin about the sex they had the night before (how low can they dream of going...), and all the other hellborn things rap and ignorance has brought into their lives...

But that's beyond the point. RAP SUCKS AND SHOULD BURN IN HELL WITH KARL MARX

Not all rap MicroDude. There is an artist called Blackaliscous who does not rap about drugs, money, "bitches, or sex. He is just extremely talented. I am not a huge fan of rap but I can listen to his music and just appreciate his skills.

Sounds like someone is a little jealous of rappers, I don't blame you, they do where clothes with out holes in then unlike those chicken humppers. Having sex with chicken must be a Rock thing. If rocker where to sing a song about their lives it be something like "I'm driving my rusted up Metro down to the corner where all my meth-head buddy get messed up and pass out."

Thats why people come to the assumption that people who listen to rap become offensive, rude, and plain mean people. Grow up man, you need to act respectful on this forum.

Everyone is entiled to their opinion but don't state facts like "rap sucks", because some one might like rap. I could going around saying all the bands you like suck but I don't now do I?

well it sucks to just about the whole city o Racine (except for the ghetto-dwellers).... sucks to me... you can say things suck to me, wont make a diff, but obviously that isn't the case with the rest of you now is it... and RCrapper, there's no way in hell i could ever be jealous of rappers, they live in their own little world with their own little beliefs and no social boundaries... i agree, not all rap sucks, but the majority does :D

Neways.... 2 more groups to add:
Boston
Kansas

The Thunderer
10-16-2002, 02:49 PM
I've avoided this thread for a long time because I just have too many favorites!!! Basically, I'll listen to ALMOST anything as long as it is mostly clean and isn't obnoxious. The music from my high school days (mid 80's) and before are what I mostly enjoy.

Jwray
10-23-2002, 02:23 AM
Heard that Thunderer. I don't think I could name my top 50. Too afraid I'd leave something out.

One thing I do know, Scott Stapp is a tool. The world would be a much better place without that no talent ass clown.

I listen to:

drum and bass, jungle, electronic, hip hop (totally excluding Eminem for his lyrics, no offence.) and off course nail-hard techno :D
