i had to switch out the original esc because it was burned out,,, and i still have the original motor,, and the lil pins on the tires are worn,,, now that i have the novak XRS esc and the car is now running,, it doesnt seem to be as fast as it once was ,,,

maybe i have gotten used to the high speeds of my msf480 i dont know, but this thing seems to have no balls,, i am now using a speed300 motor with a 12t pinion.. is it the pinion size,,, i cant see 2 extra teeth making that much of a difference..

How long has the motor been ran, because if it shows signs of decreasing speed then the motor has had it. Two more teeth will make a difference in your high end. Put in a fresh motor and make sure your gear mesh is correct and not too tight.

fixed the problem,, had a lil brainstorm on the way home from work...

when i set the novak esc i had the throttle ATV setting on high,,, which the esc saw that as being the throttle setting,, and i had nothing to increase to,, i could only go lower...

BUT setting the ATV to low and resetting the esc,, i know have all power back... im happy now.. lol.. and the speed300 with 12t is about the same as the original with 14t... just with way more low-end grunt..

your ATV adjustments.

HIGH
used for the throttle adjustments, You want the motor to keep still and not moving, This is used for forward adjustments.

LOW
used for reverse acts the same way.

Like if you have a computer radio, the ATV would be EPA, which also is the same thing.

not doubting you,, but isnt there a seperate knob for that,,, throttle adjustment for forward or backwards... the knobs im talking about are used to make the car go faster or slower,, and then the other one,,, "low" does something which i havent figured out yet...

but maybe you are right,,,

well i was looking at my radio and my atv adjustments are my epa adjustments. Can be your throttle trims, looked at the instructions that came with the 18t and theres really no elaboration on the high and low. Just comparing it to my adjustments thats all. dont know
