I had one in my hands this weekend. i really like the assciated setup. the guy (name withheld for confidentiallity) told me that a spool will be out in a few months to turn it into a rock crawler. i was very impressed. he said that it handled very well outta the box. he hadn't got clearance to put a mamba in it yet, but he told me that it would scream with one in it. what i saw was the exact version that people wouild be getting, except for his radio prefrence, although he told me the stock radio setup was nice. i dunno havnt see the stock radio setup;)

just the overall build design is better than the mini-t IMO, except for the kinda small front bumper(needs to extend a lil more)...you get way more for the money you spend also...oil shocks, bearings, ball diffs, seperate electronic gear, battery, charger:D

Personally, IMO the Mini T will eventually fade out. With the Rc18T being 4wd, it provides more benefits than the 2wd Mini T. The RC18T is better equipped and can provide more power to the ground due to being 4WD. Plus it can turn into a rockcrawler, even better. Also with the New Xray truck coming out, it is also going to be 4wd so I think that these trucks will push it out of the ring and will take over its spot. Dont get me wrong, the Mini T is a great truck and is largely responsible for getting the 1/18 truck scene started so it deserves credit. :)
maybe Losi will come out with a 1/18 version of their XXX-4...

I was @ work today and my MS Messenger popped up.
It was Jon from United RC who informed me he had just got some in stock.
He asked me if I would like one, so the devil inside got the better of me and I typed "bill me!" in the Messenger Window.
Being the RC addict I am, Jon also offered me two of his forthcoming X71 8.4v GP Battery packs for the RC18T.
Needless to say, I replied with "bill me" again. :D
Anyway, it all gets shipped to me to this week should hopefuly arrive in 10-15 days, Xmas mail rush allowing.
Thanks United RC, I know I'm going to have a merry Christmas this year with the RC18T and Mini-Quake I bought from you arriving soon!
Oh, those videos are wild, love the way the RC18T drives off the wall, awesome.
I can't wait!!!!
Question: Are the CVD's alloy/steel or composite?

I thrashed on mine at the new indoor carpet rack. I was using some plastic bmx jumps and getting some good air. I had one shock come unscrewed and blew out the oil, but the lane dividers were very large and I landed a few bad ones and smoked the boards so hard I locked the servo saver over (about 3 times) and it still rocks.
the esc has horrible brakes, it is only good for changing attitude in the air, not stopping. it almost pulses hard for a second then disappears until reverse kicks in..... then you hear the dif (or something else I will find when I rip it down to see what that noise was... A whole room full of people didn't like it either.
BUT other than those 2 things happeneing, I ran and ran and it was extremely fast. I smoked on a stock mini t in acceleration and top speed (look out for the boards at the end of the straight. I also rolled t over many times too, my antenna looks chewed on)
once I have a better esc in it, I will be quite happy to keep it the way it is. well I am making a rear body mount to go with the baja buggy I made for it ;) ... front body mounts work fine. wish I had some micro body posts kicking around still...

I've had mine for a week and haven't even run it yet :D
I'll get around to it when I get back from my vacation.
Pipe, thanks for the heads up on the brakes, the ESC looks like an LRP Quantum Micro minus the chrose casing that LRP's retail product ships with.
My RC18T is getting a Mamba 5600 put into it upon my return.

another forum I go to, a member wrote AE and they said it has antilock brakes. lo9cal shops told me it was the motor but I have used enough basic 300's to know that wasn't it. hell hold up the car and hit the brakes and watch the wheels spin.
I got a spy to drop in anyway. I will see if I can't tweak the chip and change the programming a bit, maybe just drop one of our chips in. will see when it gets ripped apart. maybe just a better fet, who know. but this sounds like a program glitch to me.
the clicking was the dif so take them apart and shim them up. I would be worried about too much power until that is tightened. a mamba might eat those babies for breakfast Mondo
