why do people keep putting Spy's in their Mini-T's? They can only handle 7 cells. I'm still waiting to see if someone will tell me if the stock ESC will handle 8 cells and a BB...muhahahahaaaaaa!:D

I have a six cell pack and an Orion Big Block in mine and the stock ESP gets hot, so I wouldn't think you could go any further.

That's a nice paint job, especially on a 1/18 scale!
BTW, I'm going to run an 8 cell and Baja or Ruby on the stock ESC, still don't understand the Spy, if anything get an IPD 10! They can handle a 10 cell and I believe up to a 370 motor. I'm going stock for now, if it fries, I'll probably get an IPD...

the reason I put a spy in the mini-t is because I will only be running 6 cells. If you plan on using 7 or 8 cells with a speed 300 based motor be sure and stock up on them because are gonna need them. But you will be fast while it lasts.

I still really need to see a good shot of 81mg installed. I'm having issues. I have ideas, but I want to see someone elses work, before I go backing more out of the chassis!

Stick with the Ruby... it will most likely fry the esc on 8 cells
but if you run 6 cells it will haul but with out smoking the esc...
The Ruby will be a much better investment than the Baja, IMO

if ur gonna run brick cells why not just put the rest of the electroincs on the bottom too?
CG should improve that way...

would 7 cells be pushing it?

honestly i belive that the ESC was designed and tested with 4-6 cells and a 280...
the 370 motor makes the ESC warm according to others on this forum....
if the ESC was designed for 4-6 cells then 7 cells will push it...
if the esc was designed for a 280 then a 370 will push it...
so yes i think 7 cells will push it on the stock esc...
The ruby with 7 cells will smoke it no prob... IMO

I did the tower in a couple hours but didn't have the proper tools here. It is super strong. I had to drill out the centers then used chainsaw files to shape it (gave me something to do while watching hockey). can't tell it's not supposed to be there. My bud brought me over some scraps to work with. I was a little worried the front tower I made would not work until I popped the body posts off. I never routed a hole, didn't need the angle as the posts bolt on the flat surface and still give the proper angle. I just got offered a pile of new tools last night so I might start making a few things until I get the cnc stuff happening to bide my time. Got a dremmel router setup, drill press, assorted sanders etc so....I could pop these out fast and cheap if anyone is interested. no countersinking holes makes it easy (I could drill out 10 at a time on the drill press)
(I actually saw your M3 and made me look at mine, not trying to steal the idea, yours totally dude, I love it, looks cool.)
I am addicted to the mini t bigtime. I am looking at all kinds of things. The back tower would have to be a molded pce unless a new chassis was designed. I want to stay away from too many molded parts, takes too much time. Going to make about 100 molded kevlar chassis though (50 each or red/black and yellow/black) and change the rear tower mount to accept a flat tower. first the prototype to experiment a little. should have one done by next weekend.

Pipeous,
and they say that good ole MJ will make you slow....lol
anywho, thanks man i am glad it turned out as decent as it did. I still migh re mount the posts to bring the body foward. but not sure yet.
If you do mold a chassis and it comes out good, how bought a orange/blue one? :) i mean later on down the road:) and what will you do about the tray for the ESC, since it seems to attach to the original shock tower?
Can't wait for pics man:)
Oh and if you have a M3 do it man, we can start a trend...lol

Well... the reason for the honda is, when I finished it all up it looked odd without a logo so I dug through my endless pile of sticker reminents and came across a honda emblem that fit perfect. The odd thing was when I got to work monday checked out the car design sites ( detroit auto show ) and found this ! a SUT by honda Hmmm very odd looking. not any thing like what I did.

First body I have painted/trimmed in a few years - forgot how annoying it was. :)

i just finished making some new tires for my mini-t and this is how they turned out. there made out of lego tank treads and there reversible so if i happen to encounter some sand i can make it so i have paddle tires or if i'm racing i can flip them over! or if i decide to go onroad i just take them off. hope everyone likes em cause i sure do!
