View Full Version : My attempt at light on my Corvette
Here's my newly finished Corvette body. I got tires of waiting for HPI's light kit to hit the street, so I went to the local electronics store and made my own.

did u use a light bucket?
Looks very good...
I just made a L-shaped bracket out of Lexan and covered it in aluminum foil, drilled holes in it and mounted the LED's.

yeah rcneon makes pritty bright lights that will work but the only way i think to make them from shooting from bottem of body is to make a L-shaped bracket out of Lexan and cover it in aluminum foil like vmax sad
Yup, the foil helps a lot! I was worried about having light "bleed" through as well. Once I mounted the lights, I taped another piece of foil behind them to be safe.
And Yes, the lights run off the regular battery. I used the third Channel on my receiver to power them, since it has a regulated 6 volts. But it could be done just as easily using the pack voltage.
