I just saw the news for the new IPD ESC's I have to have me one of those.

Well my new esc is on the way. It was nice to finally get beat in the stock class. Makes me push harder. You were the first to beat me when I didn't have radio problems. Nice race. Now we just have to get the novice off the track and we could have a clean race together. I'm heading up to the new track today to test it out.

Hey man how bout a report on this place. I was at work today till 2 and didn't feel like going anywhere, what a miserable day to be outside.

Oh yea how do their classes work, and I take it Sunday is their day?

Well it was my servo, now its the servo and ESC.

Went to shorten the wire to the Receiver from the ESC and lifted a trace while soldering, so due to the rule change last week I'll have my ARM runing stock tomorrow.

That was definately worth checking out.

Thought my stock would seem slow after seeing the track but it didn't.

i did some tuning to my mod car (tires, shocks, toe adjustment) and knocked at least a 1/2 second off my lap times. Me and Javier are going back up Sunday afternoon to screw around again.

So you were getting about 8's? That is definately a track that I could get use to runing on. The food and drinks were a very nice touch too.

Good news on the ESC department I was playing around with it figured I couldnt screw it up any more than it already was and I think I have it band-aided enough so that it will be fine for the remainder of the micro season.

Wish I didnt have so much to do around the house tomorrow or else I would probably join y'all.

I fine tuned my car and had run it for 15 minutes on the pack already and was getting 7.75 ish. I actually had so much steering eventually that I had to turn my dual rate to 55%. They said if there is even interested they will start next week.

I might stop by on my way back home from WV, but I wont be racing.

I was getting slightly over 8's average with my stock car.

Any word on what they are going to charge?

jswinkos

no word on price yet, still waiting for feedback from everyone. They will going to extend the track more (closer to the driver's stand). All the other guys are showing up today with their 1/12th scales and more people are buying the xrays (too slow if you ask me). I let you know if things change.

I gave George some suggestions on micro rules and classes yesterday. I forgot one thing, traction compound. I dont think it should be allowed for micros and for the 1/12ths I dont think wintergreen smelling should be allowed because it gives everyone I know a headache after 5 hours trapped in a building with it. Besides I hear Corally's Jack the Gripper compound is even better than Paragon with no odor what so ever.

You planning on runing mod and stock 18th?

I think the X-Ray is a very nice car but it was over hyped as a major leap and no hopups needed. Its going to have just as many hopups as the micro before all is said and done. And it isn't a revolution as far as I can tell so far.

i'll probably run mod and stock until my 1/12th is up and running good enough to race. Then I'll probably run mod and 1/12th. Don't want to run 3 classes, too much work. If I were them, I wouldn't allow any traction compound, ruins the carpet too fast. Guess we will have to see.

jswinkos
12-21-2003, 05:52 PM
well, with a fresh pack I ran a 7.37 with average 7.45 laps (second faster at least compared to the 1/10 and 1/12 scales) with a 12th scale on the track (in the way:D ). Price is not set yet, they want to be between dougs and mimi's (5 and 15 dollars respectfully).

as far as traction compound, they said probably not. Don't really need it and it ruins the carpet.

I got done working some of the bugs out of my car. My lack of steering was all because of my rear suspension set up. My tire choice was good from the get go for the track and driving style(or lack thereof). My fastest lap was a 7.45 I am still having problems with my servo skipping a spline and getting out of center.

I am only gonna run mod class up there. Lately my stuff has been breaking a lot so I am gonna concentrate on one class and be able to have fun during the whole day. Instead of wrenching just to make the main.

Place is really nice and the owners are 100% racer friendly and oriented. They kept asking me for advice and suggestions(not like I can give any, they just dont know me yet ;-)!!) which is a good sign that they will listen to the racers needs and likes.

Servo skipping a spline? Are you using the right horn? I think an Airtronics horn will fit on a Hitec servo but be loose enough to skip when its hit hard.

I got one of those Ruby motors ordered FYI. Sounds like the mod class will probably be the class to run.

I am using the hpi servo saver and the fitting that is marked for hitec. i am gonna take it apart again and look at all the gears inside the servo to make sure they are good. I hope that ruby motor is nice.

on another note, i dont know how john does it but his elite mod is running on six cells and staying pretty cool. hopefully it will last him the rest of the season now that we will be running twice a week

patcollins
12-21-2003, 08:52 PM
Hmmm if its that the HPI horn just doesnt fit right and nothing is damaged I would stick a little shoe goo inside the horn. That should keep it in place but still make it where you could pry it off if you needed to.

Hope to see you up and running, fixing cars at the track sucks.

my cbp's came in today, man that was fast

Well my car is fixed as far as I can tell. I took it apart and gave it a very good clean and did some preventive maintenance. I installed a different servo saver(not HPI!) and now I dont seem to have any steering problems. so I will soon have no more excuses when I get spanked on a constant basis.

Pat, Trifecta Hobbies is going to start their point series this sunday(best 10 out of 12). They are going to have some very nice prizes. Racing starts at 10. Try your hardest to make it up. It will be a lot of fun to run mod. Gotta give John a run for his money.

I will race down at Dougs also but only unlimited, I am done running stock.

See ya this weekend

hey didn't know anybody here lived in S. Maryland. i have a question i had a T-Maxx and at dougs track outside during the week i could just run on it for practice, just wondering if during the week me and my friend are able to just race for fun. or if they close it unless of a race is going on

patcollins
