Hey all!
Anyone interested in running the Toyota Parking lot challenge on the 26th?! http://socal.rcracing.com/Page.cfm
There are a few already going (not including those on this forum) so the turn out would be great if the Socal regulars would be able to represent!
Good racing, good environment, lots of prizes= great time.

Hey Blind, do you have any extra Toyota bodies?
Also, I have yet to see the address. I see the La Mirada address but not the address to the Toyota location. If somebody knows the address or sees it on there can you please post it here.
Thanks

Hint- it's next to 'location'...... That's why you need a 19" tv instead of 13" for Gran Turismo! lo

Right after my second heat I got some frantic calls on my cell to get home. The SD news reported a bunch of homes were going up in flames in the area my girl friend lives at so I jetted back home. All is fine but it was a little scary knowing the fire was 2 miles away.
I hear the mains didn't finish 'til 9pm so I'm glad I left any way- that's just way too slow a pace for a couple heats and a main.

Glad to hear all is well. Scarry as heck knowing you are an hour plus pack up time from your girlfirend with fire threatening. Slow pace, but 30 heats! Kinda like a ROAR race or something. I think they did OK given the amount of heats...probably more thatn expected. Hope that fire stay clear, I'm sure it will.

Yeah, I wasn't too worried about the house- just wanted to get back to SD and console.
I guess I expected better race management- everyone knew it was going to be huge, all the signs were there. It's nice to see all your friends and hang out but in the end you paid 20bucks plus to race.
BUT ahwell! As long as everyone else had a good time.
Boy your racing was expensive for that one race! Glad to see ya none the less!

30 heats!!
thats insane, no wonder the KDR race was empty
fortunately the KDR race will be reschedualed, maybe you guys could make it up here for the race then ;)

$20 for one half a$$ heat, I think I laid down about a mighty 5 laps or somethinig...yeah, pretty expensive...not even a raffle prize! LOL! I think they needed a little more planning on this one. Probably shoulda taken pre-reg or something. Oh well, growing pains...hopefully they'll do it again next year with lessons learned...I'll go again! Still beat staying at home wishing
Blind, keep me posted on the KDR, it's a possibility...I know, I know, you've heard that one before...

I remember you had a hard time in your heat. You mentioned a tweak or something? You probably know but just to make sure you did you should remove all of your shocks/ dampers and see how free the suspension is. If the back is all bound up you can twist the center pivot some to possibly free up the movement. if the side links are bound you'll want to oil or stretch very very slightly the ball end. If the front is all bound up... well you know what to do ;)

Thanks Mike. I'll look into it. I'm gonna tear it down and go through it before the GP. Tweak was just an early guess. I noticed the rear diff was way loose after the heat too, probably could use a rebuild anyway. I'm gonna definitely take your advice on the foams, start there and change only if necessary. First lap was solid (I lapped the other two cars before they finished one lap, lol), but clipped a dot and went airborne, that's when things went south. BTW, front wheel can be held on with a spacer and a long screw, seems to work well.
Anyway, lessons learned. Thanks!:)
